Your First Warm, Flat Portrait Session by Gavin Hoey
Warm, flat lighting is a technique that creates portraits that appear to have a full range of contrast and depth but in reality, deliberately lack the deepest shadow tones and brightest highlights. To complement the flat look the colors are pushed to something that feels right but at the same time, are a little warmer than normal. So how is it done? Well, that’s exactly what photographer Gavin Hoey will show you in this lighting and post-processing tutorial. Not only that but Gavin demonstrates the subtle difference in technique needed to achieve the warm flat look when working in a high key and low key setting.
