The key to successful landscape photography is to be open to improvisation and get out and use the special situations to your advantage. Beautiful sunsets or sunrises, special events like noctilucent clouds, dramatic weather, beautiful morning conditions like mist or fog, nightly phenomena like the Milky Way and so on. Simply just GET OUT. Once you are out you need to be open to improvisation and keep moving as to get the beautiful photos.
