In this video, photographer  Karl Taylor explains why sharpening isn’t really sharpening, and show you my techniques for enhancing the appearance of sharpness to create images with more bite.

To understand this better, we have to understand how image quality and resolution and how it relates to the apparent sharpness of an image. But simply increasing the resolution of an image doesn’t automatically result in sharper images.

So how can we use Photoshop’s sharpening filters to create the appearance of sharper images? Karl find the most effective ways to do this is to use local and global contrast adjustments, and he also shows you his process for doing this.
