Hard TRUTHS about travel and photography of people
This video was an important one for me to make. It’s rare that someone publicly talks about the less positive side of travel and photography of people. When things don’t go right, when we face some of the hard truths, we often feel we might be doing something wrong.

Traveling and photographing people from different cultures isn’t always a dream experience. Even if that's how most photographers talk about it on Youtube or wherever else. It’s especially hard if you’re an independent photographer. You have to figure out everything on your own most of the time.
Here I talk about the hard truths of travel and people photography which have stood out most over the years. If you’re experiencing them – you’re not alone. They’re nothing out of the ordinary. You’re NOT necessarily doing something wrong.
I’ve mentioned how I deal with these hard truths. The reason is that I believe my approach MIGHT work for others. But these are not rules by any means. This isn’t a guide of any sort either. Just ideas, advice and a few tips that I’ve found really useful.
I’d love to hear what you consider to be some of the hard truths of travel and photography of people while you travel. How do you deal with them? Anything else that’s relevant – PLEASE SHARE your thoughts and your stories.
