How to Shoot Street Photography
Join Kevin on the streets of Cardiff as he demonstrates techniques that will help you overcome the fear factor of street photography.
In this film The Photographer Academy join Kevin on the busy streets of Cardiff as he talks about a few techniques he uses for capturing his amazing street photography. Kevin begins by discussing camera techniques, such as zone focusing and shooting from the hip, to help you overcome the initial fear factor of getting close to your subject. He then talks about particular camera features, such as back button focusing, which will help you to put these techniques into practice. Kevin then puts these techniques to the test and shows you how he approaches strangers on the streets, without them being aware of him photographing them. He discusses the benefits of using small mirrorless cameras, like the Fuji X100T, for street photography over big DSLRs. Finally Kevin talks about how the techniques he has developed and practiced on the streets are the same techniques he now uses to create his distinctive style of reportage wedding photography.
