How to create a Tornado

Learn how to create a water vortex by drilling a hole at the bottom of plastic aquarium to act as a drain.

If don't have an aquarium just fill up your sink and then release drain plug. Stir in a circular motion and watch vortex form from above.

Shanks FX highly recommend using a perfectly square tank. Any tank that has more of a rectangular shape will make it much more difficult to produce vortex.

Tank they  recommend is the the Tetra 29095 Cube Aquarium Kit, 3-Gallon. Some of these shots were even captured with a cube tank that was only 1/2 gallon.
