How To made this GLOWING FOLIAGE effect
Some techniques allow us to alter how nature is perceived, making it otherworldly or symbolic of deeper themes. One such technique is the use of infrared photography to create glowing foliage. This method allows foliage to take on a surreal, almost post-apocalyptic appearance, symbolizing resilience and the lasting power of nature in the face of human activity.
Tools and Equipment
To create the glowing foliage effect, specific photography tools are required. The main tool is an infrared camera, like the Canon 1300D used in this project. This camera is modified by removing its hot mirror and replacing it with a 590-nanometer filter, which allows it to capture a combination of visible and infrared light. The infrared light reflected off foliage creates the glowing effect that is central to the project’s aesthetic.
