In this video, National Geographic photographer Bob Holmes gives us his lighting tips and the secrets for controlling light in your photographs. You'll learn about the 3 types of light and how to control each.

Pedro Scala El Vaquero is a real life Tom Joad straight out of The Grapes of Wrath. He leads a simple life as a tobacco farmer in the valley of Vinales in western Cuba. This was one of my first portraits of him and as often happens it is also one of the best. I find that people are at their most relaxed before it has time to sink in that they’re being photographed.
