ONLY AVAILABLE LIGHT : A portrait of New Musical Express Photographer of the 80s Peter Anderson
During the 1980's Peter Anderson worked for the New Musical Express. He made some of the iconic images of the period. 30 years later he returned to this period of his work to print a series of large scale images for an exhibition in London. In this film Peter Anderson talks about his approach to combining street and portrait photography, while we follow him through his large scale printing process.
Peter Anderson specialises in using available light for his work, very seldom would he make use of flash or staged lighting. This allowed him to use the techniques he had developed through his love of street photography when making portraits of rock stars. In sympathy with his beliefs, this film is made exclusively using available light.
