Portrait of Nature: Myriads of Gods on Platinum Palladium Prints by Nobuyuki Kobayashi
Nobuyuki Kobayashi (website) was born in Chichibu City, Saitama in Japan in 1970. After graduating from Tokyo School of Photography (currently, Tokyo Visual Arts College), he worked as an in-house photographer for a production company specializing in publishing/editing. He turned freelance in 1993, mainly taking portraits for advertisements and magazines.
In 2001, he went to New York to study the basics of fine art and learn alternative printing skills, such as platinum-palladium printing. Along with his humanitarian color works, he also produces works of fine art using classical techniques, with nature landscapes as the main theme.
By printing on traditional Japanese paper, he has created a unique atmosphere through the blending of classic analog technologies and the latest digital technologies. Since 2005, his works have also been exhibited in London and Paris. In 2008, he established his studio office zenne, Inc.
