Yosemite captures with the worlds largest wet plate collodion camera by Ian Ruhter

My name is Ian Ruhter. Two years ago I created a project called Silver & Light. In this film I attempted to capture images in Yosemite Valley with the worlds largest wet plate collodion camera but suffered a devastating failure.

I wanted to a shot o half dome with snow on it for some time now. Will holding our newest creation. I love this one!

Millions of people saw this film and many responded by encouraging me to follow my dreams. It took me a year and a half to regain the confidence to try again. My new film called Yosemite follows the journey to face my greatest fears and try again.

My greatest failure in life came when I lost the ability to believe in my own dreams. It had taken a year and a half to return to Yosemite after enduring one of my most heartbreaking experiences. In an unexpected twist of fate I regained the courage to try again after seeing the world through a child’s eyes.

After a bit of problem solving we're happy with the 3rd one in the back.

Since the release of the Silver & Light film we have accomplished more than we ever thought possible. We could have never made it this far without the support of people like you.

I hope you enjoy it.
