 In this episode, "Shooting Still and Motion," I take you behind the scenes and show you my methods and tips for capturing creative still and motion content quickly and efficiently while facing some of the toughest shooting conditions I've ever encountered: high-altitude mountain climbing in Pakistan. While trying to keep up with world-class alpinists David Lama and Peter Ortner on Trango Tower, I had to be quick, savvy and smart so I didn't miss the shot. I share the equipment I use, including how I rack it on my body for easy access, and tips such as why I never use a lens cap.

Discerning viewers might notice that, in the video, I'm standing indoors, under the hot bright studio lights, while wearing a full Gore-Tex shell, Gore-Tex gloves, a harness, helmet and climbing gear. Though I didn't address this in the video, I thought I should mention that I chose this outfit not because it's what I wear every day while running errands, like picking up a pack of diapers at the local store. Nor did I think a freak high-altitude storm might strike. I simply wanted to illustrate the fact that in the mountains you have to keep your gloves on, and it's awkward and not comfortable the way we work—but that's the point! So I hope you can appreciate that because I put in a lot of sweat to make that point—literally.
