Allen Litten: The Story of A Photojournalist
I met Allen a few years ago when he taught at a local photography workshop. He really left an impression on me through his work and incredible storytelling.
Allen has been a photojournalist in Harrisonburg for the past fifty years, and has touched many people with his images and dedication.
Through all the projects I have shot in the last few years, I had always wanted to make a small film about Allen's life.
The opportunity finally arose this year when my girlfriend, Kait, suggested that we work on a creative project together before the busy wedding season started.
My good friend Christa Gitchell helped us convince Allen to participate, and loaned us her awesome darkroom space for the interview.
While the focus is on Allen's work in the sixties, we hope you get a good sense of who he is as an artist, and why his work truly stands out from the rest.
We hope you enjoy the film!
