BASETRACK: Using the iPhone to cover the war in Afghanistan
Teru Kuwayama with other photographers, artists and multimedia engineers, created Basetrack, an online platform based on WordPress. This blog has as a main goal: to publish images of war and for Marine’s families to be in constant communication with them. Basetrack creates reportages in collaboration with the Marines based on the most important communication tools of this time; It makes connections on Twitter, Facebook and uses an interactive map which shows the accurate location of each story.For a long time.
Teru has covered the war in Afghanistan having only an iPhone as a main camera (which is only used for this purpose).
Using the iPhone and some applications such as Hipstamatic have earned recognition and controversy in worldwide photojournalism.
